Spring Vision Quest: An 8-day Wilderness Journey to the Heart of your Soul
Join us for one of the most ancient rites of passage, a wilderness Vision Quest. Over eight days, we will dive into the mysteries of nature and psyche in search of our deepest gifts. The Vision Quest best serves those seeking vision, healing, or a clearer understanding of how to establish a personal life of meaning and purpose while serving the world in which we live. At the core of this wisdom is a deeper connection to Self, Nature, and Spirit.
The Vision Quest is a cross-cultural ceremony that has been practiced for many thousands of years. Indigenous cultures often relied on this practice to foster a fully conscious transition from adolescence to initiated adulthood, as a way to discover and embody a person’s authentic self, while leaving behind the causes and conditions that prevent this flourishing. In this way individuals are empowered and relationships, communities and society are strengthened.
Supported by guides and fellow questers, over the course of eight days participants will spend up to four days fasting alone in the wilderness. Prior to the solo fast two days will be spent in this newly–formed community establishing clear intentions, and the final two days, also in community, will help shape the skills necessary to take new learning into the world. Throughout the eight days ceremonial rites and rituals will be used to assist participants to open more fully to themselves and the “wild” teachers of the natural world. A model of nature-based human development, as well as the 3 phases of a wilderness passage rite – Severance, Threshold and Incorporation, will be used to provide a comprehensive road map of the journey.
